Tails of Justice Unleashed at FPC Danbury

Inmates begin new Vocational Training program

Tails of Justice Unleashed at FPC Danbury

(BOP) - During National Reentry Week, FPC Danbury welcomed the arrival of the first two rescue dogs for their new dog program, Tails of Justice. In partnership with a non-profit animal shelter, inmates at the Camp will provide basic command training to adult rescue dogs before they are made available for adoption in the community.

According to Executive Assistant/Camp Administrator Lynne Kelly, "this program will provide the necessary training for inmates to become certified dog handlers. It opens the door for future occupational and employment opportunities in the animal training and care industry." Advanced training will eventually be offered to the inmates at FPC Danbury so they can include therapy training for dogs.
