(BOP) - In response to the recent tornadoes and storms that swept through and devastated Laurel County, a team of Bureau of Prisons (BOP) staff members rose to the occasion with compassion and leadership.
The Family Resource Center was activated, and a comprehensive support plan was developed and approved to provide continued support. The dedication of BOP staff did not go unnoticed. On May 23, 2025, they received visits from Senator Mitch McConnell, Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Layne Coleman, State Representative Timmy Truett, and City of London Mayor Randall Weddle. These officials expressed their appreciation to BOP personnel as they observed the ongoing relief efforts in the affected areas.
"We are proud and humbled to be able to support our community during this difficult time," said FCI Manchester Warden Christine Hilliard. "Our staff have shown incredible resilience and compassion."
Special thanks to everyone whose compassion and generosity made this relief effort possible!
